V Series 2009 – Episode 3: A Bright New Day

Hello V Series Fans,

Before we proceed with our third recap, a question or three. Do you like to write? Do you love V? Would you like to be a character in an exciting and fun V Role Playing Game? Ever wonder if such a place existed? Well it does on Twitter!

“It’s a bright new day in America” Chad Decker proclaims, as we see Anna being photographed for her Visa… Outside the Peace Ambassador Head Quarters there are crowds of people protesting against the decision to give the visitors visas.

Anna is the first Visitor to walk through the New York gate, the first Visitor granted a Visa to freely roam American soil.

We see Father Jack Landry questioning his faith again, as he has people during confession telling him that they are not sure if God is real, some think the Visitors are God-like, performing miracles. Others aren’t sure if the Visitors are good or evil….

Tyler is about to leave when Jack knocks at The Evan’s household; he seems a little shocked that there is a ‘Priest at the door’

Erica tells him that that work together, Tyler retorts: “That’s cute!”

Tyler leaves, Jack enters…

Jack asks Erica: “Why are the V’s doing it like this? Why the infiltration? Why the sleeper cells? Why don’t they annihilate us and get it over with?”

Erica replies: “Because they’re smart, and patient…and whatever they want, they need something from us…and until we figure that out, we fight them the same way they are fighting us: one step at a time”

She then tells him that she has been going thought the list of names she took from the VTAJT (Visitor threat assessment joint task force!) team. Trying to see if any of them match anyone from the meeting at the warehouse!

Erica gets a call; she tells Jack that she has to get to the Peace Ambassador centre. There has been death threats against the V’s, Jack say: “You want to protect the V’s?” So Erica says “Yeah cause if a Human Kills a V that makes us the bad guys!”

Which totally makes sense! She proclaims that if she has to be on their side (The V’s) then maybe she could fins something that could help them fight!

So she readies to leave, Jack decides to stay at Erica’s to go through the files; he really wants to help!

Ryan walk’s Valerie to work. He doesn’t like the idea of the Visitors walking freely around the city, Val doesn’t mind at all! Val makes a comment to Ryan, “You have that look, like you’re keeping a secret or something” of course Ryan tells her everything is fine…As soon as Val head into work, Ryan jumps into Georgie’s car…Ryan asks if Georgie knows if anyone survived the warehouse meeting, Georgie tells him he hasn’t tried to contact anyone, and he is scared. Ryan proclaims that ‘they’ need to “…mount a resistance”

Ryan asks if Georgie has heard of John May, Georgie says he is a ‘myth’ Ryan tells him, and ‘us’ that he is not a myth, he is the leader of the “Fifth Column” (The very same name as the 80’s V’s good Visitors!) The first group of Visitors to turn against the Leadership (Anna!)

Up on the New York Mothership, Marcus and Joshua *Head Medical Lizard* Are having a conversation about Dale Maddox. Joshua informed Marcus that Dale had regained consciousness, but as there was so much damage they do not know if he will remember anything… Marcus tells him that as Dale was a highly placed sleeper agent for over 20 years they “…need to know if he was compromised and if so by whom”

Joshua enters a medical bay, Dale is just waking up, and Joshua tells him he is a hero! And that who ever did ‘this’ was going for his heart; if he were human he would have been dead. Joshua explains dale’s memory loss is due to Posttraumatic amnesia.

On the Mothership Anna is watching Chad Decker’s “Prime focus” show as he explains that the woman leading the protesters is called Mary Faulkner, Her dead husband: Lt David Faulkner, who died when the visitors arrived, his F16 fighter Jet came down. She has been on a hunger strike for six days. She seems to have a gathered a substantial following! She is shown in the holo-monitor, she says the following: “They say the V’s medical cure can save lives, but how does that make up for the death of my husband, or the six hundred and forty two other soles around the world who were killed that day in accidents caused by their arrival”

Marcus enters to tell Anna that the FBI are in their way, Anna explains that  “This Faulkner woman” plans to talk live on air in front of the Peace Ambassador building later that day. Anna says: “She’s becoming the face of the protest movement… Get me as much information on Mary Faulkner as you can, I want to know everything about her, her dead husband, her child, her family. We have to stop this. Now!”

Tyler drops Brandon off at the Peace Ambassador centre, shortly after he leaves his Mother Erica Evans arrives…

She is teamed up with a V security agent, she is reluctant, but has to go along with it, she asks for access to their surveillance centre, “That’s in our restricted zone” He proclaims “Yeah I know” She smirks!

Upon viewing the ‘normal’ room <no V tech> she tells them to adjust cameras and how to spot this person from her experience.

The V assigned to Erica, demands that ‘if’ there are any injuries to any Visitors that their own doctors treat them! *I wonder why* during this brief exchange, she notices over his shoulder, a sinister looking room full of V tech.

Whilst looking through the files at Erica’s house, Jack comes along Georgie’s file,

He immediately recognises him, he calls Erica, but her phone is off, so leaves a message the he found ‘the guy that led the warehouse meeting’ and sets off to find him…

Georgie and Ryan are talking about getting a resistance together, when Ryan tells Georgie he is going to see “Cyrus” Ryan explains that he was an old friend, and Fifth column member, that had fought together before Ryan had met Georgie. Ryan asks him to come along, but Georgie declines, he’s not ready to recruit again, Ryan says he has to go, to build the fifth up again, “There’s strength in numbers”…

So Ryan heads off for Cyrus’ coffee shop on his own, they great each other like old friends,

Up on the Mothership: “Let the records show that the captains of all twenty-nine ships are present for the briefing” Marcus states as Anna approaches holo images of the ‘Captains’, she holds her Visa up and starts her speech…

“Today is an historic day! Though we continue to gain ground in diplomatic areas we must not under estimate the importants of popular opinion among humanity. Opinions can easily change. Monitor them and if necessary change them within your territories, by doing so we can stop any resistance before it starts. Go forward.”

With that the holo images disappear one by one and Anna and Marcus leave the briefing room.

Joshua is with Dale, Joshua explains that Dale was taking out a human resistance cell; he was the only V to survive, and that he was ‘wide open’ when he was brought on (You could see his real self! And so wonderfully attractive he was too… if you like reptiles that is!)

Marcus tells Anna that he has uploaded information on Mary Faulkner to her console.

Anna asks Marcus “You are wondering why I am focusing on a single woman when we have so many global concerns?”

He admits that the thought had crossed his mind, so she explains: “Mary Faulkner’s life is in ruins and she blames us, that kind of hatred is contagious. We have to make an example of her so she doesn’t infect others!”

Jack pulls up outside the address he has for Georgie from the FBI records. Jack enters the unlocked house, no one seems to be home, the place looks to be abandoned, a woman enters, she says that George doesn’t live here any more, and asked if Jack was counselling him or something, because his family has been killed, he said aliens did it. He gives her a card and tells her to give it to Georgie, “tell him I was at the warehouse, he’ll know what that means”.

Back with Ryan and Cyrus, this Cyrus looks on edge, when Ryan asks if he has names, Cyrus says he has a list out back, and heads into the kitchen, Ryan follows, but…

Cyrus pulls a gun on Ryan and presses an alert button. The Visitor’s are on their way.

Cyrus says that he has to hand Ryan over to them. Ryan asks what they promised him. Cyrus says that they promised to reconnect him. “Don’t you miss it? Everything Anna gave to us? Don’t you miss the Bliss?” Cyrus looks almost demented at this point

“The Bliss is how she controls us Cyrus. Just like junkie’s man, and that’s what you are. You’re nothin’ but a junkie just like the rest of ‘em,” Ryan proclaims.

“They promised me I will be reconnected…” A brawl ensues; Ryan easily has the upper hand.

“You gotta be alive to be reconnected” Ryan sneers…

Erica and Mr Security V are on the roof of a building within the Peace Ambassadors Head Quarters,

Erica notices a guard is missing, they go to investigate, and realise that the ‘suspect’ is now wearing a Security Visitor’s Jacket…

She notifies the team through secret comms, and frantically looks at the crowd trying to determine who the ‘suspect’ is. She spots him… entering the building.

Erica follows, Marcus comes into the room, the ‘suspect’ springs into action, and Marcus is the target. But Erica takes him down!

They grapple him to his feet, and Erica is told that they have a holding room for him…

Brandon and Tyler enter a Pizza parlour, Lisa is in there waiting for Tyler, Brandon leaves them to it, Lisa tells Tyler that he is back on the Peace Ambassador program. He’s obviously overjoyed!

Erica and The security Visitor take the ‘suspect’ into the ‘restricted zone’ The security Visitor turns to Erica and says: “Thank you Agent Evans, I may have misjudged you”

Erica’s Boss tells her that the Visitors will take it from here, and to meet her out front, <My personal suspicion is that Erica’s boss could be a Visitor, of course I could be wrong here!>  Erica reluctantly agrees, but instead of going out to wait, she decides to check out the ‘room’ she spied earlier, it takes her a couple of goes to enter correct sequence into the V tech lock, she enters the room and is s little overwhelmed at what she sees.

There are hundreds of holo images before her, live feeds, but from what?

She approaches, and touches one of the images, it pops to the forefront, you hear the audio along with the live footage. She then notices a live feed from the room she is in, she brings it to the forefront, and sees herself in front of the holo images. She backs up to see where the camera is capturing the feed and discovers that it is the silver patch on the left Brest pocket of the peace ambassador’s jacket that is concealing V tech Cameras. This disturbs her greatly. <How sinister, they see everything that the Peace Ambassadors do/say>

Erica promptly leaves as she hears a door click, but just misses Tyler and Lisa come into view in a mirror in her home.

Anna is seen quite alarmingly ‘practicing’ human emotions as she prepares to ‘talk’ with Mary Faulkner the face of the anti V movement. She rehearses several phrases, trying to show feeling, even shedding tears. So very sinister…

Mary Faulkner is brought to the rear of the Peace Ambassador Head Quarters to Anna, Anna approaches and says: “I’m so sorry to surprise you like this- I would be honoured if you would grant me a few moments of your time…”

“Why should I listen to anything you have to say” Mary asks defiantly…

“I would like to offer my heart-felt condolences for your loss. This was the only way I could meet with you with out causing a scene”

The foolish woman goes with Anna…

Erica’s boss tells her that there is someone that wants to meet her. Marcus approaches and says: “Agent Evans, I just wanted to thank you in person. Your quick actions saved my life”

They share a joke that Marcus does not get, but fakes a laugh any way, he adds,

“It is appreciated” Erica says that is she’s ever needed he can give her a call, he aggress “Vice versa” He offers her his hand, she shakes it begrudgingly.

Joshua enters a virtual reality with Dale. He is trying to help Dale remember…

In this virtual reality they are in a mock up of the New York FBI headquarters. Dale remembers that it was Erica that attacked him; he wants to return to earth to kill her.

At The Church, Georgie puts a gun to Jack’s head. “I heard you were looking for me” he says, he checks Jacks scar, and realises he was at the meeting, and when Jack turns around Georgie remembers Jack was with ‘the mouthy blonde’ Jack explains she is with the FBI and that they want to fight. Georgie tells him that every time ‘they’ try to come together the Visitors crush them. Jack tells him that it was Erica’s partner Dale was a Visitor and that he was responsible for the raid at the meeting, and that Erica killed him. Jack repeats Ryan’s earlier words “There is strength in numbers”

Back to the Mothership:

Joshua tells Dale he is not going back to kill Erica. “If half the things you are telling me about Erica is true then she will make an excellent ally!” Joshua says,

Dale quickly realises that this is not good for him, he wakes in the I guess you would call it a medical unit, and refers to Joshua as a “Traitor”, Joshua injects him with a lethal dose of what I assume is poison, of some sort. Joshua tells Dale as he takes his final painful breath “The Fifth Column say Hello”

Chad Decker is reporting live from outside the peace ambassador centre where Mary Faulkner is a bout to take to the podium to address the crowd. She tells them that she started the day as she had every other day since her husband had died during the arrival of the Visitors. She had blamed them, but something changed, she told everyone that she had spoken to Anna.

Anna approaches the podium; she takes Mary’s hand

Anna turns and addresses the crowd.

“Today a man possessed with hate tried to kill one of my people, but his real target was peace. The same peace that Lieutenant Faulkner gave his life to defend, we will not diminish this brave solder’s sacrifice by answering in kind. We remain of peace. Always!”

Marcus and his motley crew attend Cyrus’ café, one of the agents takes him in to the kitchen and explain that Cyrus has activated his distress signal but by the time they got there is was too late. We see a scattering of grey ashes in a rough body shape where Cyrus was last seen alive…

Marcus sees a door spray painted with the slogan: “John May Lives” he states: “There will be no peace”

Tyler takes Lisa into his room, they start kissing, when Erica arrives home, Tyler strips off his Peace Ambassador Jacket and t-shirt and hides them, he tells Lisa his Mother does not like the Visitors. He goes out to intercept his mother; she asks if someone is in his room. He says no, but we hear a kafuffle in Tyler’s room, Erica barges past him, and finds Lisa in her underwear. Erica is embarrassed

Erica tells Lisa to get dressed, and tells Tyler to take her home, and they will “Talk later” Erica leaves promptly.

We see Anna watching Chad Decker’s show; he is explaining that the Anti V movement were dealt a blow as the story went onto be a win for the visitors.

Anna then thanks the ‘suspect’ from the attempted ‘killing’ this is extremely disturbing… Anna set the whole thing up to make the visitor’s look like they are better then ‘us’.

Erica meets with Jack, she tells him about the peace ambassador jacket’s hidden cameras.

Georgie meets with them in the church, he brings Ryan along. This is the beginning of the resistance!

We end the show on Lisa approaching Anna, she states: “Tyler is the one, we should use him”

Anna strokes her face and replies, “You’re doing an excellent job, I’m proud of you”

Lisa replies with a smile “Thank you Mother”

(Wow, I wasn’t expecting that!)
