Welcome Back Lovers of The Ark!

The third season was totally terrific with fast moving episodes that culminated in a fabulous finale on October 14, 2026! Interestingly, at the end of the second superb season of The Ark it was not clear if there would actually be a third season due to a lengthy delay.
Although the third season was announced by SYFY in March 2025, it took SYFY over six months to confirm it despite rave reviews and strong ratings for the second season. No doubt this caused a production delay of sixteen months until the first episode of season three was broadcast on July 29, 2026.
Now with with thirty-six total exciting episodes, we hope that a fourth season of The Ark will be announced sooner than it was for season three. Before beginning our analysis of season three, we want to thank all who have been involved in bringing the only science fiction space saga to admirers. As the only Space Opera series broadcast weekly on United States and Canada owned stations, as well as now enjoying broadcasts in several overseas markets, it is hoped by millions to be renewed quickly after the second season finale this week.
This was all made possible via the awesome acting talent portrayals of Captain Sharon Garnet (Christie Burke), Lt. Spencer Lane and Ian the clone (Reece Ritchie), Lt. James Brice (Richard Fleeshman), Kelly Fowler (Samantha Glassner), Dr. Sanjivni Kabir (Shalini Peiris), Angus Medford (Ryan Adams), Alicia Nevins (Stacey Read), Eva Markovic (Tiana Upcheva), Security Chief Felix Strickland (Pavle Jerinic), Sasha Novak (Milos Cvetkovic), Jelena Griff (Tamara Radovanovic), William Trust (Paul Leonard Murray), Naomi Spencer (Jessica Yemi), Lati Meir (Coral Mizrachi), Kimi Joma (Díana Bermudez), Dr. Marsh (Jadran Malkovich), Captain Zed Evega (Daniel Fathers), and Stella Cogner (Jelena Moore).

In season three new protagonists are Dr. Olga ‘Doc’ Morozov (Ana Savija) with an increased role for Captain Zed Avega who assists our heroes in determining what is transpiring at Home Base. The new villain in season three is Vesna “Ves” Illic (Tamara Aleksic) who we were introduced to in season two. Ves becomes the character viewers love to hate for her malignant behavior on Home Base and beyond.
We here at TeamWHR have enjoyed this series. Kudos are due to the wonderful writers team including series creator Dean Devlin, Jonathan Glassner, India Sage Wilson, Madeline Hendricks Lewen, John-Paul Nickel, James Delorean, Kendall Lampkin, and Rebecca Rosenberg. Additionally, the hard work by series composer Fred Coury, the series costumers, the visual effect team and all the series departments have made The Ark a believable science fiction series. We hope this is not the last review we write for The Ark. In our opinion, this series is more than worthy of an announcement for a fourth season!
Season Three Summary:

The series third season opens with “I Told You Not To Come” about the permanent establishment of Homebase itself. An unexpected discovery indicates that all may not be okay on Homebase, but is related as a mystery at this point.
While Captain Garnet leads a mission aboard Ark 1 to find lost survivors from other Ark’s. Homebase 1 faces a troubling situation that raises new fears about the planet, however, no one has enough information to stop the movement of the survivors to the surface. The most troubling development is the apparent death of James Brice and a young medic by alien spider creatures.

Finding Ark 22 in episode two “It Won’t Hurt Too Much”, Sharon meets her superior officer Admiral Ben Hammond (Aaron Fontaine) who takes control only to learn that Ark 22 is filled with clones led by a character named Kurtis Drake (Edward Akrout) who is manipulating the Gen3 clones.
Drake wants to capture Sharon who we learn is a stable Gen3 clone. Drake plans to use Sharon to “cure” his own Gen3 clone which have a tendency to often go crazy. Sharon is a hybrid that is motivating Drake. Fortunately his nefarious plan never comes to fruition.

As we will learn later, Brice was not killed. This situation will bring a new character to the forefront; in episode six “Deja Vu” Ark 1 is caught in a time loop that Ian and Dr. Kabir figures out to help break the loop that would have destroyed Ark1. Meanwhile, while Alicia and Captain Avega team up to solve the mysteries on Homebase.
Dr. Olga ‘Doc’ Morozov is in James Brice’s mind as an apparition in his mind requesting that he help her. However, at this point we do not know that her request will help save everyone. Previously, Ark 1 leads a mutiny knocking out Hammond with Sharon and Ian escaping with their lives.

Meanwhile, back on Homebase, Angus, Kelly and Felix locate a cave exhibiting signs of technology. Then the new villain Ves makes her move linking up with her lover, sheriff Milan Petrovic (Toni Gojanovic).
Ves and Milan’s appearance in the second episode bodes ill for everyone at at Homebase. Viewers will recall the rival elements from Earth are the Global Space Administration (GSA) and the Eastern Federation (EF) which Ves wil leverage. The conflict between GSA and EF will drive story points including Captain Avega whose EF1 ship is attacked by a mysterious force on the planet where Homebase is located.

In episode eight “By Any Means Necessary”, Brice reaches a mental breaking point with Alicia and Kabir helping to suppress the memories which are some sort of a biometric program that was inserted into his mind. This allows Eva and Brice to explore their relationship that was disrupted by the apparition.
After Angus and Kelly explore the underground technology area finding the mute Cave People, an intelligent group of humans who utilize symbols to communicate, Brice and Eva find a force field in episode ten “The Lucky Ones” that turns them invisible as they discover a force field that is holding back volcanic activity that could not only destroy Homebase, but the entire planet!

Eva and Brice find an ancient stone that is actually an electronic switch that the Cave People help them find. Once the electronic switch ancient stone is active, the field is deactivated.
Brice and Eva return to the scene from being invisible and thankfully reappear to share their knowledge with the Ark 1 team.

Thankfully Alicia escapes Ves and is ultimately saved by Sharon who learns that something large and ominous sits inside the Ancient Artifact that will figure importantly in final episode of season three “We Can’t Save Everyone”.
As a couple, Eva and Brice share their love with each other. Additionally, they share what they have learned with everyone on the Ark 1 team to help save the Homebase colony from impending destruction.

Eva and Brice discover that the force field is hiding an Ancient Artifact, a building with a Caretaker humanoid inside who was controlling the artifact saving the planet that was accidentally damaged.
The Caretaker had been holding back the cataclysm, but perished as a result of what transpired. Brice then realizes that Dr. Olga ‘Doc’ Morozov was placed in his mind to reactivate the Caretaker protections but there will be huge cost.
As it turns out, Brice agrees to take the place of the humanoid that was connected to the device in order to save the planet. Sacrificing himself in the process, viewers can see it is breaking Eva’s heart.
The finale scene finds us with the entire Ark 1 crew team sans James Brice. At first each person are observed grieving separately. Sharon invites them together to toast and commemorate heroic James Brice who saved everyone on Homebase!
