Hello V Series fans!
Here I am with my V Series episode Four: Unholy Alliance review. Unfortunately this will not be my usual full-on review you all have come to expect as my HUMAN technology has failed me… Where is Anna when you need her? I could do with a V holomonitor and one of their amazing computers right about now!

Unholy Alliance was written by Rockne S. O’Bannon who you may know was the creator/writer of Farscape , SeaQuest DSV and many other amazing science fiction shows.
This episode starts with Paul Kendrick (Roark Critchlow) leading Erica Evans into an area near the entrance of the Peace Ambassadors Centre; three Peace Ambassador’s were murdered, buy having their throats slit, then they were Masked, then strung by their legs for everyone to see.
Erica Evans (Elizabeth Mitchell) is terrified that one of the poor youngsters is her son Tyler (Logan Huffman) Erica goes from one to the other unmasking them, and sighs in relief knowing it wasn’t her son. However the news from Kendrick that The Fifth Column is claiming responsibility does not sit well with her.
Tyler barges through the taped off area to his Mother, rather upset telling her he should have been there Erica promises to find who did it, Tyler pushes her away and storms off. Tyler is still really emotional, and he does not show his Mother any respect, if only he know what she does and who the Visitors really are…
Now Anna (Morena Barracin) goes to Ryan Nichols (Morris Chestnut) on the Mothership. He had got to spend the night with his Daughter (Trinity Jarman), and now before Anna is to give the Child Bliss when she needs it, Ryan is to do her bidding. She tells him of the Peace Ambassador Murders, and she wants to know who is responsible for the abduction and killing of Agent Malik. As I had hoped, Ryan frames Eli Cohan (Oded Fehr) and Anna quickly orders him to find Eli.
Erica return to The Resistance Headquarters and tells everyone that she has been assigned a new agent from D.C. The heat could be on them, and as Hobbes points out, they have not been able to dispose of the remains of Malik because of the added mess that the new Fifth Column faction has stirred up, that would be near impossible right now.
They need to get to and stop Cohan. Jack offers himself up to be bait so to speak, as the bomber attended his sermons he is sure that other people associated with Cohan must attend too. He sends a message that he is ready to see Cohan, and the then get the chance to stop him.
Erica then goes into meet this new Agent, but she decides it is not too bad, she has been partnered with Chris Bolling (Jay Karnes), we learn that she attended the academy together, and indicates they got in some trouble together. Agent Bolling has been looking at all the evidence surrounding Erica’s Fifth Column investigations, and he decided that Father Jack Landry might know about the Peace Ambassador murders.
Anna and Marcus (Christopher Shyer) are watching Chad Decker (Scott Wolf) on Prime Focus, where he is reporting about the Peace Ambassador murders, and how religious groups are speaking out against the Visitors. Finally someone other than Erica and her crew are doing so. It is terrible how gullible the masses are, believing Anna’s lies.
Unfortunately, I believe that this would happen in our reality as well. To have someone offer the Miraculous health care, the saviours of Humanity, saving us from ourselves, clearing the oceans of the abuse from oil spills, giving life to the most desolate of places with Red Rain. Who would not want to be impressed and helped by them? Chad then tells the team of Cardinal Janusz Wolichek who is the head if the discussions at the Vatican.
Chad finds himself on a Shuttlecraft with Anna who thanks him and remarks that it is nice to have someone I can trust, I loved how Chad spoke over her, ignoring her comments completely asking where on Earth they are going,
They are at the Vatican. Anna intends to interfere, again… Everyone is somewhat surprised, as they land, people scatter. Then there are cheers for them. Anna is to meet with the Cardinal, with Chad present so he can report on everything. Jack makes contact with Cohan’s goons, phase one of the plan is complete. Just as Erica and Chris is coming to ask Jack a few questions, Jack opens a box… Inside is a beheaded Lizard, by the picture, not totally clear if it is a real Lizard or a Visitor type Lizard, but it’s pretty gruesome either way. 😉 Jack is asked by Chris is he knows Eli Cohan, he responds no. Chad is telling the truth for now at least, however I find it interesting what we learn later. Anna is talking to The Cardinal, it seems this is a way for her to have the Church condemn Jack, wow, what a lot of trouble to go through for one man, I think Anna kinda likes him in some twisted way, otherwise she’s just have one of her people kill him. She wants them to disallow any of their priests to talk out about the Visitors.
One of the other priests steps to the Cardinal and whispers something. Anna recognises the ring he is wearing. She asks Marcus to find out everything about him, Marcus find out that he is a Visitor and he was taking orders from the previous Queen, Diana, Anna’s Mother. Anna wants Marcus to make sure the undercover priest returns to the Mothership.
Father Jack found a DVD with the Lizard head, it is from Eli Cohan, asking Jack to come to a car park of some description, where he would be picked up. Jack is given a glass of slimy looking stuff, that Ryan tells us is a tracking devise that Human technology can not detect. They see Chad’s latest report, and know that Anna is playing on the violence of the radical Fifth Column group, to get sympathy votes from the general population and now the Catholic Church. Jack is picked up by the same goons, and taken off at a fast pase. Ryan’s V tech easily track him, and they follow.
Lisa (Laura vanDervoort) follows Tyler in Saint Josephine’s Church, where Tyler and his friends track Jack’s office, and paints a V on the wall; Lisa leaves, very upset with Tyler’s outburst. Tyler is caught by Father Travis, Tyler knocks him over, and flees, not before dropping his iPhone. Anna is not happy as the Cardanal did not agree with her, and was not going to order the other priests to stop talking against the Visitors.
Anna compares her technology to Miracles, but not Miracles in general, but the kind associated with Religious belief. She then uses her Blue Energy to show that she can replicate any kind of Miracle that she pleases, a statue of Mary is engulfed by the Blue Energy, and the statue then cried Blue tears and bled blue form her hands… The Members changed their mind quickly.
V Queen Anna has a desire is to eradicate the soul within Visitor’s bodies. This is clear and that factor the fans totally understand as do I. Anna despises her and all emotion. to Anna the soul seems to be the source of that emotion within Humans; but I am not over enthusiastic about ‘Religion’ being so predominant in the continuing storyline. I understand the relevance, but being one of little faith feels it feels to me personally like there is too much focus on religion being complicit in this episode of V Series.
Father Jack Landry (Joel Gretsch) is taken to a log cabin, in upstate New York, and he is met by Eli Cohan, within moments Erica and the others, burst in and confronts Eli. Turns out that his wife had been tampered with too, but unlike Tyler his Child died. They make a crude agreement, that Eli would hand over the ones responsible for the Peace Ambassador murders, and they would also take the rap for the planted Malik! Later this is an argument with Father Travis (Scott Hylands).
Chad talks with the Priest that has been set up to apparently be the first to join the Visitors, he tells Chad to trust his instincts about Anna, and fake a hand shake to give him his ring. My guess is that it is some kind of Visitor technology, perhaps like an equivalent to a USB flash drive. Marcus tells Anna that Peers has some sort of inner strength that allows him to fight the Memory retrieval device. Anna has Marcus and the Technician leave. She then demands any information he has about the soul and the like. He says he would only answers to his Queen Diana (Jane Badler) NOT Anna! Anna takes Peers to Diana, she seems a little shocked/happy to see him, Anna demands he speaks, he keeps stumn. Diana tells him it is fine to proceed, he tells them that the Human soul is not a curse as Anna thinks, but the single most wonderful gift to their speies. Diana tells Peers that for fifteen years, she had never lost the will to live, he thinks this was her soul sustaining her.
Anna seems to think she can torture him into telling him everything, but he indicates to Diana that he would rather her take his life. She obliges by taking a chunk out of his jugular, and he drops dead, like a lump of lead to the floor. Anna asks what her Mother did? Well Diana gave him a merciful way out. And of course she didn’t say, but we know she was thinking, “well that buggers up your plans my Daughter…”
Jack returns to Church to find the mess Tyler made, and then find his phone as it rings off, it’s a message from Lisa, so it is very obvious who it is from. He set to cleaning the place up. When Erica drops by he give her Tyler’s phone, and she is devastated; as would I be in her place, you put your all and everything into your child and he goes and does something as stupid, and not to mention Childish as this. I know that Tyler, the poor chap has had half of his DNA stripped, but he should have known that was silly, especially with his Mother being an FBI agent; if word got out that Peace Ambassadors did this in a place of worship, it would not go down well at all, in fact it would make Anna look like a bigot.
Ryan takes the Bioskin from Mailk’s head and gives to Anna, saying he has cleared up the mess, and pointed the FBI in the right direction to get the people responsible for Malik’s death. Anna wants him to get deep within Cohan’s group, as she wants them all to be taken down. Ryan has to agree or he knows his Daughter will suffer.
And last but not least the new guy Chris has a visit from Kendrick, turns out that Chris is spying on Erica. And he has footage of Erica and Jack. Erica could be in some serious trouble here.

And that concludes my recap/review of “Unholy Alliance” I cannot wait to see the rest of this season! Thank you for reading!
