This Creation Entertainment<\/a> weekend was, well, epic. <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

There\u2019s not really another way to put it, except perhaps to qu<\/span><\/span>ote my fellow reporter, Meagan, and say \"LA-Stargate2009-RyanRobbins-002c\"<\/a>that it was \u201cexcellen<\/span><\/span>tabulously Claud-frelling-tastic\u201d, which may be a mixture of made-up words, but at least it\u2019s an accurate one.\u00a0 I doubt I\u2019ve ever had a better time than I did this past weekend, nor have I spent my time in a b<\/span><\/span>etter way.\u00a0 All of our activities have been listed in prior posts, so I\u2019ll provid<\/span><\/span>e just a few of the highlights of the Farscape convention in this one. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

On Thursday, I arrived in Los Angeles.\u00a0 I was so excited the night before that I woke up almost every hour to check how much longer \"LAX-02c2\"<\/a>I would have to wait until I got there.\u00a0 O<\/span><\/span>\"LAX-01c\"<\/a><\/span><\/span>n the plane, I freaked out the guy who sat beside me with my giant grin of anticipation.\u00a0 I called MeaganSue<\/a> as soon as I got into the airport and it wasn\u2019t <\/span><\/span>long before I saw her standing at the bottom of the escalator.\u00a0 We hugged and squee\u2019d <\/span><\/span>about finally being there.\u00a0 Later that night, I had the pleasure of meeting a few of my other online friends, as well; Carlo, Matt and Jael (Vala).\u00a0 It was as though we\u2019d known each other for ages.\u00a0 It was amazing \"LA-Farscape2009-Party-Peeps-009c\"<\/a>to finally meet in person the people I\u2019d been chatting with for so long., not to mention how wonderful Cliff Simon<\/a> and Ryan Robbins<\/a> were!
\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Friday was a busy day.\u00a0 We started off with registration and then discovered the table where Virginia Hey<\/a>, Gigi Edgley<\/a>, Pa<\/span><\/span>\"LA-Farscape2009-VirginiaHey-001c\"<\/a><\/span><\/span>ul Goddard and Lani Tupu<\/a> were selling their various works of art, CDs, candles, comic books, etc. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We went up to look at everything, espec<\/span><\/span>\"\"ially Virginia\u2019s candles, as had been recommended them to us.\u00a0 We ended up chatting with Virginia for a very long time, and what was really \"LA-Farscape2009-LaniTupu-001c\"<\/a>cool was that she was easy to talk to, so you almost forgot who you were conversing with.\u00a0 It wasn\u2019t until later that we realized how cool that was.\u00a0 We also got to talk with Gigi for a few minutes when we each purchased a copy of her CD and comic book, which she signed and \"LA-Farscape2009-GigiEdgley-001c\"<\/a>personalized for us. \u00a0All four of them were really nice.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We attended a few panels, including Virginia Hey\u2019s \u2013 where she told a funny story about Anthony Simcoe and butter, and now I will never look at butter the same way again.\u00a0 At night, there was the cabaret.\u00a0 Wayne Pygram was sick, so he could not perform.\u00a0 Gigi Edgley pulled up audience members to act out a play about her life with her.\u00a0 Rebecca Riggs <\/a>performed a skit about motherhood and received a standing ovation.\u00a0 Finally, David Franklin<\/a> told the story of Grayza and Bracca after Peacekeeper Wars<\/em> when they got married, had nontuplets and pulled a lot of crazy schemes to get rich.\u00a0 All three of them were absolutely hilarious and a treat to watch.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Hands down, the best part of the day would have to be the karaoke <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span>party, if for no other reason than MeaganSue\u2019s duet with Ryan Robbins.\u00a0 I\u2019m sure everyone has seen the video by now, but it was awesome.\u00a0 I was geeking ou<\/span><\/span>\"LA-FarscapeStargate2009-MeaganSue-RyanRobbins-001c\"<\/a><\/span><\/span>t for her!\u00a0 The best part would def<\/span><\/span> <\/span>initely have to be that he was the one that pulled her on stage.\u00a0 She kept refusing, but with enough peer pressure from the rest of us, she finally ca<\/span><\/span>ved.\u00a0 All weekend after, people kept stopping her to say they loved her karaoke.\u00a0 I\u2019d say this was a mission accomplished!\u00a0 By the by, if any of you haven\u2019t seen the video, you\u2019re really missing out and should go watch it immediately.\u00a0 We also met some awesome Scapers and hung out in the lobby chatting with them for several hours after the karaoke party ended.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Saturday was a very busy day.\u00a0 We woke up early and met up with some more Scapers in the lobby of the hotel.\u00a0 I discovered a few of them actually live quite close to me, and they told me to email them about joining in on their monthly lunches.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The first item on our agenda afterwards was Ben Browder\u2019s<\/a> panel.\u00a0 I told myself I\u2019d ask at least one question to a celebrity on stage this \"LA-Stargate2009-BenBrowder-004c\"<\/a>weekend, so I chose him.\u00a0 I asked what he would miss the most, besides family and friends, if he was shot through a wormhole, like Crichton, to the far end of the universe.\u00a0 Sadly, I had begun losing my voice from an allergic reaction the night before (and the screaming I did at all the panels wasn\u2019t helping), so he had some difficulty hearing me.\u00a0 He also made fun of people who name their cell phones and it took all my energy not to make <\/span><\/span>\"LA-Stargate2009-BenBrowder-GigiEdgley-002c\"<\/a><\/span><\/span>a joke about my phone, who happens to be named Kalliope.\u00a0 It was also great when Gigi, Paul and Lani dropped in.\u00a0 The whole thing was pretty hilarious.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We went to a few other great panels, including the Farscape reunion and Brian Henson (note: WHR reporter with more images has flu! Will update this post after her recovery), as well as attended the dessert party, but I would say the highlight of the night for me was meeting a huge group of fellow Scapers in the lobby.\u00a0 We spent hours with them \u2013 though I\u2019m unsure of the exact amount of time.\u00a0 I do know <\/span><\/span>\"LA-Farscape2009-Party-Peeps-010c\"<\/a><\/span><\/span>that it was because of them that we didn\u2019t make it back to the hotel room until about 3am Sunday morning.\u00a0 Not that it was <\/span><\/span>a bad thing.\u00a0 I\u2019ve come to the conclusion now that Scapers are the best partiers and some of the most fun people to hang out with.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sunday was an amazing day.\u00a0 It was completely packed full of jam.\u00a0 First, we had all of our photo ops.\u00a0 The ones with Claudia (that being the dual ops with her and Ben Browder, as well as the group\"LA-Farscape-Stargate-BenBrowder-ClaudiaBlack-ValaBlack-001c\"<\/a> photo for Claudia Black<\/a> Online members) were fairly rushed, sadly, although I did thoroughly enjoy the face she made in MeaganSue\u2019s photos.\u00a0 After her, came the photos with Michael Shanks<\/a>.\u00a0 He told me he loved my shirt, which read, \u201cWhere\u2019s my Daniel?\u201d and then posed for the photo.\u00a0 I totally got a hug.\u00a0 I\u2019m going to slip int<\/span><\/span>\"LA-Farscape-Stargate-MichaelShanks-ValaBlack-001c\"<\/a><\/span><\/span>o fangirl mode for a moment and say, he has really great arms!\u00a0 All three of them were totally gorgeous in person.\u00a0 Unfairly gorgeous.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Between photo ops and panels, we also managed to score interviews with two Farscape<\/em> stars: Lani Tupu and Virginia Hey.\u00a0 These were the first celebrity interviews I\u2019ve ever been a part of, though sadly I couldn\u2019t ask<\/span><\/span>\"LA-Farscape2009-LaniTupu-GigiEdgley-WaynePygram-002c\"<\/a><\/span><\/span> any questions, as I still had almost no voice.\u00a0 What a time to lose the ability to speak, huh?\u00a0 Still, it was really cool to be a part of it.\u00a0 Both of them are fabulous and very kind to agree to the short interviews.\u00a0 I hope you all enjoy watching them when they are posted!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Then, it was time for the panel I\u2019d been waiting all weekend for: Ben Browder and Claudia Black.\u00a0 There\u2019s only one way to describe this panel \u2013 incredible.\u00a0 Ben showed up late and Claudia joked about having to wait for a man.\u00a0 Claudia ate her lunch on stage during the panel, and at one point she also fed Ben a bite.\u00a0 She sent him into a time-out, which she said wouldn\u2019t be short, since it was one minute for every year of his age.\u00a0 The whole thing was utterly hilarious, and there were very few <\/span><\/span>moments, it seemed, where the audience was not clapping, laughing or cheering for them.\u00a0 I felt so lucky to get to be there for it.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

At the end of the panel, a child dre<\/span><\/span>\"LA-Farscape2009-ClaudiaBlack-BenBrowder-001c\"<\/a><\/span><\/span>ssed <\/span><\/span>in a Batman costume ran up beside the stage.\u00a0 No one really thought much of it until Claudia looked at him and cooed, \u201cYou came!\u201d\u00a0 She asked him if he wanted to come onstage, then picked him up and brought him up with her.\u00a0 They exchanged whispers in each other\u2019s ears and Ben told us to give them a moment.\u00a0 She sat down and they continued chatting quietly.\u00a0 Everyone was sort of just watching them quietly.\u00a0 By then, we\u2019d all figured out that this was her oldest son that was onstage and I think everyone was shocked, since she lives such a private life.\u00a0 She held the microphone up again and said he was nervous, but if he took his mask off, to please not take any photos.\u00a0 An incredible thing happened \u2013 everyone in the room put down their cameras; at least, everyone that I could s<\/span><\/span>ee.\u00a0 He did take off his mask a moment later.\u00a0 He was adorable, by the way, but out of respect to Claudia, I won\u2019t describe him any further.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The panel was over fairly quickly after that and it was time for the cocktail party.\u00a0 Both of her kids were there for that, running around the room and jumping on and off of her lap.\u00a0 I just want to mention that from what I saw, she\u2019s a great mother.\u00a0 She talked to our table first.\u00a0 She discussed her new film \u2013 which sounded like a slasher movie \u2013 which also will star French Stewart and Brian Krause.\u00a0 She also said that she loved that these conventions are about more th<\/span><\/span>\"LA-Farscape2009-ClaudiaBlack-BenBrowder-002c\"<\/a><\/span><\/span>an just the actors, but also about the friendships which form through the show.\u00a0 She added that she wouldn\u2019t have brought her kids to any other convention and she thought they wouldn\u2019t want to come to this one, but that in part of her mind she knew they would just because she thought they wouldn\u2019t.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The only activity left to do was to present Claudia with the gift the members of Claudia Black Online had created for her.\u00a0 It was a geography trivia game about all of the different countries the members are from.\u00a0 I almost missed this, but thankfully Matt, Carlo and Jael found me before they gave it to her.\u00a0 She looked surprised when she saw the group of us walk in.\u00a0 Leslie (Lady Halfling) explained it to her and placed it on the table in front of her.\u00a0 She thanked us and said, \u201cWhat better way to teach my children about geography, than, you know, their mama\u2019s career?\u201d\u00a0 She seemed to enjoy it and think it was very creative.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

There was a little chatter and then I said that I\u2019d had the pleasure of meeting her at Polaris and that it had pretty much made my whole summer.\u00a0 I felt like a bit of an idiot after that last part.\u00a0 She said thank you and without hesitation added, \u201cYou cut your hair.\u201d\u00a0 I told her I had dyed it and she replied that it was a very nice color and really suits me.\u00a0 I don\u2019t really remember what happened afterwards, for the main fact that I was shocked that she remembered me enough to notice a change in my hair!\u00a0 Okay, that was my other fangirl moment.\u00a0 Hey, I kept it together for most of the convention, but I\u2019m only human.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We spent the rest of the evening with more Scapers, but alas they slowly trickled out and eventually MeaganSue and I decided we should go back to our hotel room.\u00a0 The weekend was over, and believe me, that was a depressing thought.\u00a0 As I said, it was one of the most fun we<\/span><\/span>\"Click<\/a><\/span><\/span>ekends I\u2019ve ever had.\u00a0 I\u2019m already planning my trip for next year!\u00a0 Hope to see at least some of you there! <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
