The superb second episode of season five, \u201cOld Friends\u201d was written by Jackie May<\/a>, and ably directed by Jonathan Scarfe<\/a>, the Axel Miller character we know from earlier seasons of Van Helsing<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

As the fifth and final season commences in earnest, it is nice to note that Jonathan Scarfe<\/a> not only continues working as a Van Helsing<\/a> series Director, he, along with Kelly Overton<\/a> are also serving as co-executive producers working alongside Jonathan Walker<\/a>, Mike Frislev and Chad Oakes to bring the past to life on our screens each week!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

All of this is hopefully leading to back the present and future on Earth in the fight against The Dark One, Dracula (Tricia Helfer<\/a>) who we found out was actually an innocent woman named Olivia, married to Count Dalibor\u2019s (Kim Coates<\/a>) and a new mother of a baby boy named Cristof!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The second episode of the fifth season, “Old Friends”, delivers tour de force performances by each of the four female lead stars, Nicole Mu\u00f1oz<\/a>, Tricia Helfer<\/a>, Heather Doerksen<\/a>, and Jesse Stanley<\/a>, who’s heartfelt depictions of their characters brings joy to the admirers of the Van Helsing science fiction fantasy series.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Joining Jack (Nicole Mu\u00f1oz<\/a>) in the past fight against Dracula, The Dark One, we learn in \u201cOld Friends\u201d that Bathory (Jesse Stanley<\/a>), a sworn enemy in the future, is a vampire hunter in Transylvania located near Count Dalibor\u2019s castle with a loyal band of vampire hunters in the village, all seeking the death of the series evil mischief maker, Michaela (Heather Doerksen<\/a>).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

As we proceed to unravel the second episode, \u201cOld Friends\u201d, and based on being featured in the promotional poster of Van Helsing for 2021, viewers will not be left to wonder if we will see many of our old friends like Vanessa (Kelly Overton<\/a>), Violet (Keeya King<\/a>), Axel (Jonathan Scarfe<\/a>), Julius (Aleks Paunovic<\/a>), Doc (Rukiya Bernard<\/a>) and many others who have made Van Helsing<\/a> so enjoyable the past five years!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

As such, like most Van Helsing viewers who have grown to admire this science fiction fantasy series, Team WHR<\/a> is certainly hopeful that we will see other characters such as Ivory (Jennifer Cheon<\/a>), Flesh (Vincent Gale<\/a>) and Jolene (Caroline Cave<\/a>) will return to reprise their roles once the season five journey into the past via the wormhole portal is complete as Jack returns to us all to the present timeline!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
